About Chardon Metal Products Co.
Chardon Metal Products Company was founded in Chardon, Ohio by
Anderson Allyn, Sr. In 1945, as a demonstrator for National Acme
Company, Mr. Allyn decided to make the switch from service to
ownership. On a part-time basis, working evenings and weekends,
Chardon Metal Products Co. was founded.
In 1955, the company moved to its present location on Fifth Avenue
in Chardon, Ohio. After 3 additions to the original building, the
latest, a 10,000 sq. ft. building, was added to the property. This
was done to consolidate all production “under one roof”.
Anderson Allyn, Jr. or “Spike” as he is known by most, now serves as
Chairman and CEO.
Spike has learned the business from the ground up. He has served in
most of the job capacities from chip spinner to president over the
past 38 years.
In September of 2000, Anderson “Duke” Allyn (third generation)
joined the company. Duke’s background has been in the financial area
of a similar company located near Chicago. Duke’s knowledge and
experience will be now, and in the future, a definite asset to the
continued growth of the company. In 2007 Duke was named President.
In 2004, Aric Anderson Allyn joined the firm and holds the position
of Vice-President and Materials Manager.
The company’s original services were screw machining and associated
secondary operations. In the early 1960’s, the management team began
looking to broaden its base and diversify its services. During the
decade, Chardon Metal Products Co. purchased two small tube
fabricators and moved their operations to Chardon.
In the 1980’s, Chardon Metal Products Co. made the commitment to
pursue CNC lathes and machining centers. This unique service mix has
established C.M.P. in the precision machining and metal fabrication
industry. Our commitment to the quality at all levels of the company
continues as we grow in the 21st century. We are certified to ISO
9001: 2000 and continue to hone our processes daily.
